Janet Moody

Janet received her Bachelor of Arts degree from The Evergreen State College and her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Washington School of Law. She served as a public defender for Thurston County District Court, and has been in private practice for the last nine years. The focus of her practice is Elder Law, including guardianship, probate, trust and estate planning, Medicaid planning, special needs trusts and vulnerable adult issues.

Janet is a member of the Thurston County Bar Association, the Washington State Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Thurston County Bar Association and is a Past President. She also served as President of the Board of Directors of Thurston County Volunteer Legal Services. She is a member of the Thurston Mason Senior Action Network, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), and the Life Care Planning Law Firms Association.

Charity Johnson received a B.A. in Criminal Justice in 1996 from the University of Alaska Anchorage. Charity has worked in the legal field for several years with a focus on Estate Planning, Guardianships, Trusts and Elder Law. She joined this office in 2012. Prior to her work in the legal field Charity worked at a professional Guardianship Agency.

Her duties included accounting for the clients and preparing the financial portion of the reports due to the court. She worked one-on-one with the incapacitated person in many capacities. Charity’s work with our clients involves preparing pleadings and correspondence, scheduling hearings and setting appointments.


Linda Karamatic

Linda grew up in Aberdeen and graduated from the University of Puget Sound with a degree in Elementary Education and a Washington State Teaching Certificate. She joined ELWC after retiring from 37 years in education. She has experienced the joys and challenges of caring for an elderly aunt and mother which gave her great compassion and interest in helping others through that process.
